7 tips on how to get glowing skin

Every girl dreams of having a porcelain complexion and soft, supple and smooth skin that glows from within. The good news is that it is achievable. You just have to keep a few things in mind and follow them religiously. They are as follows:

  1. Keep yourself hydrated: To get glowing skin, one thing that holds great importance is keeping yourself hydrated at all times. This means you need to increase the amount of water you drink everyday. Carry with yourself a water bottle anywhere you go and keep drinking it every now and then. This flushes out the toxins from the body and makes your skin glow from within.
  2. Avoid oily junk food: Having a balanced diet is not only important for the general health of your body but is also important for your skin too. High intake of oily junk food is one of the main reasons for skin to look dull and lifeless. Also there are high chances that you may develop zits and acne. So in order to have a clear skin avoid oily food as much as possible.
  3. Wash your face: Washing your face several times a day with plain cool water removes that greasy layer on your skin and makes it look fresh and rejuvenated.
  4. Use a facewash instead of soap for your face: Many people use soap on their face out of laziness or lack of knowledge. Remember that the soap is only to wash your body. The skin of your face is far more gentle and needs special care. Use a good face wash that suits your skin at least twice a day, once in the morning and secondly at night before sleeping.
  5. Say no to too much chemicals: Going for treatment of your skin frequently or using facewashes and creams having high chemical content damages the skin and is not suitable for the long run. Instead opt for a good herbal brand. Use herbal creams, facewashes and similar other products to take care of your skin.
  6. Exercise: Exercising is not only good for the body and weight management but is also great for your skin. Now you must be wondering how. The answer is simple. When you exercise, you tend to sweat a lot which helps in getting rid of the toxins in the body that come out with the sweat, eventually making your skin glow from within,
  7. Be happy: As Charlie Chaplin said, "A day without laughter is a day wasted." This indeed is true. When you are happy from within and keep smiling and stay cheerful, it shows on your face, making you look charming and glowing. So destress yourself and stay happy!

With the help of these tips you can look younger than your actual age. These are all non surgical ways through which you can retain your youthful look. Here are the tips on how to look  younger:

  1. Change your hairstyle: A hairstyle goes a long way in making you appear younger than you actually are. It is a sure-shot way through which you can take down many years from your face. No matter if you have long, medium or short hair, getting front fringes or bangs done from a good salon is the fool-proof method to look younger. The best option would be to opt for a shorter hairdo as that will turn out to be more helpful in look younger. The front fringes or the bangs cover your forehead and give an illusion of you being younger than your actual age as it contours the face in a way that you look younger.
  2. Take care of you skin: Wrinkles, pimples, dark spots, blackheads and blemishes are the reason why the skin looks dull and tired making you look older. Hence it is extremely important for you to take good care of your skin. Following simple, everyday beauty regime to take care of your skin can go a long way. Wash your face several times with plain and preferably cold water and at least two times with face wash. Washing your face before you go to sleep is extremely important as it washes of any dirt within the pores and also rinses away extra oil caking over your skin. Moisturize your skin with a good, light, non greasy moisturizer. Herbal and natural ones, with least amount of chemicals and artificial beauty enhancing ingredients would be the best as they won't harm your skin the long run. Use face packs twice a week for pampering your tired, pollution exposed skin. Go for facials from a good beauty salon. This helps tighten the skin making it look firmer.
  3. Get rid of under eye bags/ dark circles: The under-eye bags and dark circles are the main reasons why the skin looks dull and tired making you appear older. Getting sufficient amount of sleep, cutting caffeine, alcohol and the number of hours you sit in front of your computer/laptop helps avoid the chances of developing big under eye bags and dark circles. Keeping slices of cucumber over the eyes of 15 minutes is also a great way of getting rid of the dark circles. You can also dip cotton in cool rose water and keep it over your closed eyes to get rid of puffy eyes.
  4. Exercise and eat healthy: Getting sufficient amount of exercise will ensure that you stay in good shape thus making you appear much younger than you actually are. Eating healthy will ensure you have youthful energy and you'll look and stay fit always. Keep yourself hydrated at all times as this gives your skin a fresh and youthful glow,
  5. Be happy: Last but not the least, being happy from within, laughing and smiling shows you are content and happy from within and that reflects on your face bringing a child-like youthful glow. Remember, no beauty product works on your face as good as staying happy does! So laugh a lot and lighten up your mood to keep up your youthful energy and to remain young at heart always because that will show up on your lovely face!

10 Skin care tips for the monsoon season

Since the monsoon season has arrived in India, it is now even more important for you to take care of your skin. With the onset of this rainy season problems such as acne, rashes and allergies are quite common. The View Crunch puts together 10 tips to keep your skin healthy this monsoon season.

  1. Drink ample amount of water to keep your skin hydrated for a fresh and glowing look. Consuming good amount of water flushes out toxins from your body making your skin appear brighter and also younger.
  2. Use natural home made masks. Avoiding chemical based skin care products is the best thing you can do for your skin in the rainy season. Make a home made face mask of papaya pulp, honey and curd and apply it on your face. Keep it for 20 minutes and wash it off completely. This will rejuvenate your skin. If you haven't got time to make this face mask at home, you can opt for Jovees' Papaya and Honey Face scrub . It will surely turn out to be the best face scrub you'd have ever used.
  3. Use a good herbal cleanser and toner. Remove your makeup with a herbal cleanser. Before you are about to sleep, wash your face with a herbal face wash and last of all wipe your face with a good herbal toner. Using natural and herbal products before you are off to sleep ensures a glowing skin next morning. Oriflame's Aloe Vera Toner would be a superb choice, for instance.
  4. Wash your feet everyday thoroughly as dampness causes bacterial infections and other allergies. Hence it is very important to keep your feet clean during monsoons. Once a week, soak your feet in apple cider for smooth, soft and infection-free feet. Use a good moisturizer to make them even more soft.
  5. If at all you catch an infection, apply home made yogurt on that area. Its natural quality of fighting all sorts of bacterial infection will be highly beneficial for you.
  6. Go for lukewarm baths instead of a hot water bath. Hot water dries up skin and makes it flaky and cracked.
  7. One common myth every person falls for is that you don't need a sunscreen on a cloudy day. This is not true. Ultra violet rays of the sun penetrate from the clouds thus damaging your skin. Hence you need to apply sunscreen lotion 15 minutes before setting out from your home. Always remember to keep a 15 minute- gap between applying the sunscreen and stepping out of the house. It takes a little time for the sunscreen lotion to go skin deep and come into effect.
  8. Wash you face several times a day to keep away skin infections, acne and rashes.
  9. Don't opt for skin treatments and avoid bleaching and application such chemical based products as your skin is prone to problems and infections during monsoons.
  10. Last of all, eat healthy, avoid excess intake of oily food and junk food. Drink fresh home made citrus based fruit juices like lime juice and orange juice. They flush out toxins from the body and prevent any possible infections. Also avoid eating out, especially the road side food. Eating healthy will bring glow on your skin and avoiding oily food will prevent your skin from developing acne and pimples.
